Do it yourself reupholstery

Do you have a wonderful old chair, or sofa that really needs some love? Maybe it belonged to your grandparents, parents, or someone special to you. Most of the older furniture and antiques we reupholster here at M.J. Amsden Furniture fall into this category. It’s not really the dollar amount that makes that old piece so special, but the memories of a loved one that take us back to those special people and times. If you have a special piece that you would love to have reupholstered, but just cant fit it into your budget maybe you can tackle the project yourself? Not sure what to do, or how to begin? Your not alone, our YouTube Channel has a very popular video series entitled “How To Reupholster A Wing Chair” This series is very in dept and covers much more than most wing chairs will need and the information within can be applied to any type of furniture not just wing chairs. Go to YouTube and give the series a look over, I will post a link at the bottom and see if this is something you might like to try. We sell many upholstering supplies right here on our web site, most with free shipping and we are adding new ones all the time. If you get stuck on something just leave a comment in the comment section, I try and answer all comments, or you can send an email and have your problem addressed that way as well. Good luck with your project!

Mike.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your video series. I watched it in preparation to tackling my own wingbacked beast! 🙂 Thank you for provided such wonderfully informative content. As a side note, do you possibly remember the details of the fabric you used on the chair in the video? It was lovely, and looked nice to work with despite a bit of stretch.

Hi Brandy: I am glad you liked the video series and that I was able to help you with your project. The fabric used on the wing chair in the videos was 100% angora wool and very nice to work with, yes it did have a little stretch, but a little stretch is great when pulling fabric around compound curves and such. Thanks for commenting and good luck with all your future upholstering projects.
